VACANCIES

The Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) has openings in its Headquarters for young and dynamic university graduates to fill vacancies in the Membership Services Department, the Personnel & General Administration Department, the Professional Development Department, the Library & Information Technology Department and the Finance & Budget Department.

Required applicants should be highly motivated, ready to take initiative and work with minimum supervision. They should be ready to work for late hours and at weekends. They must be computer literate and ready to work in a team to realize the overall objective of delivering quality service to all members of NSE promptly and efficiently.

Membership Services Department

Applicants for the post of the Head of Department should hold a good Honours Degree in Humanities or the Social Sciences and should have at least 10 years cognate experience, five of which should be in managerial or supervisory level. The possession of higher degrees and/or membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.

Applicants for Officer positions in the Department will be required to possess the same qualifications but with less number of years of cognate experience.

Personnel & General Administration Department

Applicants for the post of the Head of Department should hold a good Honours Degree in the Humanities or the Social Sciences and should have at least 10 years cognate experience, five of which should be in managerial or supervisory level. The possession of higher degrees and/or membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.

Applicants for Officer positions in the Department will be required to possess the same qualifications but with less number of years of cognate experience.

Applicants for the position of Maintenance Officer, who will plan and implement a scheduled and preventive maintenance programme for our plant, machinery and equipment, should have a good honours degree in mechanical engineering and at least 5 years cognate experience. Possession of higher degrees, membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, and registration with COREN, will be an advantage.

Applicants for the position of Cleaners/Gardeners should have a Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent. Years of cognate experience will be an advantage.

For applicants for the position of Head of Security, they should have a good honours degree in the Humanities or Social Sciences and cognate experience of at least 5 years in a similar position. References will be required from former employers and/or responsible citizens.

Applicants for the position of Security Guards should have a Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent and cognate experience. References will be required from former employers and/or responsible citizens.

Professional Development Department

Applicants for Officer positions should hold a good Honours Degree in the Humanities or the Social Sciences and should have at least 5 years cognate experience. The possession of higher degrees and/or membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.

Library & Information Technology Department

Applicants for the post of Head of Department should hold a good Honours Degree in Library Studies, Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electron ics Engineering, or Computer Science, and should have 10 years cognate experience, five of which should be in management or supervisory level. The possession of higher degrees and/or membership of relevant professional bodies will be an advantage.

Applicants for the post of Librarian are required to have a good Honours degree in Library Studies and cognate experience. Possession of higher degrees and membership of the Nigerian Library Association will be an advantage.

For the position of Webmaster/Information Technology (IT) Officers, applicants should have a good honours degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical/Electron ics Engineering, or Computer Science, and cognate experience. Possession of higher degrees, registration with COREN, and membership of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and/or the Computer Association of Nigeria will be an advantage.

Finance & Budget Department

Applicants for the post of Head of Department should hold a good honours degree in Accountancy, and be at least an Associate Member of ICAN or its equivalent, with ten years cognate experience. Knowledge in the use of accountancy software packages will be an advantage.


Applicants for the post of Accountants will have equivalent qualifications but with less number of years of cognate experience.

Applicants for the post of Accounts Officers should hold a good honours degree in Accountancy and show evidence of being students of ICAN, in addition to cognate experience.

Internal Auditor

Applicants for the post of Internal Auditor should hold a good honours degree in Accountancy, and be at least an Associate Member of ICAN or its equivalent, with at least five years cognate experience. Knowledge in the use of accountancy software packages will be an advantage.

Applicants who have over five years cognate experience and are students of ICAN can also apply.

Clerical Officers

Applicants for the position of Clerical Officers should possess at least a Senior Secondary School Certificate or equivalent. Computer literacy, cognate experience, good written and spoken English, and higher qualification will be an advantage.
