Salary: £19,000 to £28,000

Fire Testing and Technology Ltd (FTT), in collaboration with the University of Brighton, is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated graduate to play a major role in a strategic two-year project. This very successful international company seeks to identify new and innovative niche product lines and international market areas, to fuel further expansion.

The company located in East Grinstead, West Sussex, specialises in the design, manufacture, supply and maintenance of reaction-to- fire testing instrumentation.

This post, as part of the government's Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme, offers the successful candidate a unique opportunity to work closely with the university to enhance the company's skills in market and technology scanning. The successful candidate's broadly-applied scientific knowledge will complement the company's core competence in fire science. Additional benefits include a dedicated personal development budget and the opportunity to register for a higher degree.

Key attributes: A good honours degree (minimum 2:1) in Engineering or in a Physical Science. Candidates who have completed and MEng or MBA may also consider this a suitable opportunity for career development. An appreciation of scientific instrumentation and engineering design processes is also required. A strong commercial awareness and interest in marketing-based activities is advantageous. Appointment to the higher end of the salary range will be based on relevant appropriate experience.
