SENIOR PROJECT/FACILITIES ENGINEER (PFE)

The Company: Client is a new indigenous oil and gas company involved in the development of a field in the Niger-Delta region of Nigeria.

The job: The Company plans to develop production facilities consisting of an oil flowstation, gas plant, oil and gas flowlines and pipelines, water disposal system with target first oil date early 2008.

Reports to: General Manager Technical

Responsibilities: Project/Facilities Engineer (PFE) will be fully responsible for the development of all surface production facilities from Basis for Design (BFD) to Commissioning and start up. Subsequently the PFE will be responsible for overseeing all post commissioning facilities integrity and expansion projects in addition to new development projects. PFE will also be responsible for developing the Company’s Engineering Policies and Procedures and formulating and implementing plans and strategies, and monitoring of all technical aspects of the project within the this framework .

Specifically responsible for developing and managing all technical, engineering, Quality, budget, Cost and Schedule plans and activities, obtaining technical approvals from statutory bodies locally and internationally for the engineering projects in which company is involved to ensure all facilities and engineering projects are delivered within budget, schedule and to approved quality standards. In addition PFE is also responsible for management reporting weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually as well as supervising a wide range of technical disciplines and the Contractor’s team.

Qualifications:
· Minimum - Bachelor of Science in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
· 5+ years demonstrated process and /or mechanical design experience in oil and gas facilities.
· 5+ years demonstrated process and /or mechanical construction experience in oil and gas facilities.
· 3+ years demonstrated project engineering experience in an E&P project in the oil and gas industry.
· Demonstrated ability to use process simulation software : Hysis, Pipesim or similar software
· Knowledge of international mechanical design standards and codes with special emphasis on API, ASTM, ANSI and similar standards.
· Good verbal and written communications skills (English language) and the ability to work as part of and also lead a team.
· Past experience with an IOC International Oil Company is a plus
· Proficient in the MS Office suite of software programs and Lotus Notes.

Skill Levels:
· Must have drive, energy and initiative and be capable of working with minimum supervision
· Must be familiar with design and equipment selection of complex equipment applications (i.e., Oil & Gas Production, LNG/NGL, Non-Associated gas Plants, high pressure gas re-injection, water flood systems, fire water systems, power generation, etc.).
· Hands on ability to use project planning software such as Microsoft Project Scheduler or equivalent. Must be able to use the fu suite of Microsoft Office software.
· Possesses good knowledge of engineering verification and equipment design audit requirements
· Capable of developing procedures for testing, installation, commissioning and start-up
· Capable of developing requirements for operating, maintenance and inspection procedures
· Capable of verifying work is consistent with good design practices, realistic operating assumptions, and low lifecycle costs
· Capable of developing detailed equipment specifications including pre-commissioning, testing, and assessing vendor qualifications and quality programs
· Must be able to lead a multi-disciplinary team o engineering and support personnel.

Work Location: Port Harcourt (base)/ Niger-Delta as operational zone .Must be mobile and able to travel.
